Princess Pizza Polish Party Part II

Like every great thing that happens in life you hope it can happen again and be just a great if not better. Well I knew the first Princess Pizza Polish Party that I had for the young ladies in my class was enjoyed by all. I decided to take a chance and see if I threw another one if it could be just as great as the first one. Now I know sometimes the second one is not often better than the first, there have been plenty of movies made to prove that theory. So when planning this sequel party I tried to do everything to ensure that it would be a success and not a flop.

First I found the perfect / cutest little invites that I could find to send to each Princess to let her know about this upcoming event.

In order to have a "polish" party you have to have the "polish" and I knew that I had that covered. Lucky for me I found these great "spa pedicure" sets at the $1 store and thought it would be fun for each young lady to get her own little "pedicure" set.
Next it was time to plan the menu. This time I picked to order the pizza instead of make it because I figured it would be cheaper and easier and it was. Due to the fact that cheese and pepperoni were the flavor of choice for most of the Princesses it was super easy to order. I did try to have some healthy food so their parents would not be too upset with me.
Next I found out what kind of candy each Princess liked and tried my best to accommodate her likes.
Now for the drinks. I set up a little "bar" type area and had drinks of choice for everyone.

To add a special little touch to the party I hung some stars from my entry way so when each Princess walked in she would feel like a star among stars. Of course each Princess should have the pink and red carpet rolled out for her and I was not going to disappoint these lovely Princesses. So the pink / red carpet was rolled out for them and awaiting their arrival.

Each Princess was given her pick of her crown as she entered the party and I hope the little extra sparkle would add a little sparkle to her night. The good thing about this crown was when midnight struck she did not lose it she got to keep it just as a real Princess does.

A special feature film with a good message was picked for the viewing pleasure of each Princess. Tangled was the perfect film to show these lovely ladies and I think they enjoyed watching it again, as most had already seen it. I am not sure if it was the extra sugar or just the fact that it was a cute movie but it was a hit.

As the night came to a close and it was time for each lovely young Princess to leave she was handed a special Princess Purse full of all thing that a Princess should have to be prepared.
I think this sequel was a success and all the each Princess went home happy with both glass slippers on her feet.
I LOVED throwing this party and I LOVED having these AMAZING, WONDERFUL, LOVELY and FABULOUS Young Princesses in my home. Not only do I feel SO BEYOND LUCKY and BLESSED to be able to teach them each Sunday but I am THRILLED that I get to throw a little party like this one for them. Who knows maybe there will be a PART III coming soon and here is hoping it will be just as FABULOUS as the first two.

HERE COMES THE BRIDE

YEAH! IT'S WEDDING TIME!!!!
No I am talking talking about the Royal Wedding that will taking place on Friday, though I will be watching that one. My little brother Nick made it safely home from Afghanistan last month and he decided to "pop" the question to his SMART, WONDERFUL, AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL girlfriend Lindsay. She survived his stay in Afghanistan and our family "Christmas" in July at the cabin last year so it seems only right that she said "YES"!
I am THRILLED that she is going to be a member of the "Wright" family. I LOVED getting to know her better when we met in July. She fit right in with the family and she is perfect for my little brother.
My brother is a VERY LUCKY man to be marrying such a FABULOUS lady and I am SUPER HAPPY to be getting a new sister! The only thing I am a little upset about is the "girls dorm" room will now be minus one during future family "Christmas" in July cabin trips but that is OK because our family is growing to PLUS ONE permanently in this July!
CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME to the family Lindsay!
I LOVE YOU!!!!!

LOTS & LOTS of LOVE to GO AROUND

I have been REALLY bad at updating my blog. February was a VERY VERY BUSY but FABULOUS month for me. I was a little busy getting ready for one of my FAVORITE holidays......VALENTINE'S DAY!
This year my "heart" cookie list got a little longer so I made a plan, set a goal and when it was all said and done over 450 hearts were made! Needless to say it took 3 days to do but I got it done and it was worth all the work and late nights. I did learn that if I ever win the lottery or in my next life the biggest rooms in my penthouse are to be my kitchen and bathroom (I want a LOOOOONG DEEP tub that I can soak / relax in.LOL). I also found time in between baking to make the girls in my class cute little Valentine's Day baskets and even sent my nieces and nephews a little Valentine's Day surprise. It was so fun to watch the faces of the little ladies in my class as I pulled out the box with their Valentine's Day surprise. You would have thought Christmas came early! LOL It was also a thrill for me to hear from my sister, sister in law and mother how much my nieces and nephews enjoyed their little Valentine's Day care package. Some might wonder why Valentine's Day is the favorite holiday of a single lady like myself. Well I will let you know for me it is not about what you are getting and / or who is giving it to you on the "love day" that makes the day special it is all about what you are doing and giving to others to make the "love day" a little more special for them. It is all about letting those you love know that they are loved not just on this day but EVERYDAY and if I can do that well then it makes my "heart" / "love" day perfect and special. After all I believe if you can't get it then give it! LOL
So in case you do not believe what I have written then maybe a picture can say 1,000 words or more because right now I am am kind of out of words. LOL

DO YOU NEED IT OR WANT IT???

I found these SUPER FABULOUS AMAZING BEAUTIFUL shoes on the Nordstrom web site that I want REALLY bad for Valentine's Day! Yet for some reason I can hear my Bompa, Mum and Mother asking me "DO YOU NEED THEM OR WANT THEM?" LOL While February is a month FULL of LOVE and RED I don't think that red sparkle shoes is what they had in mind when they thought of Valentine's Day. LOL So when I look at my shoe collection and see that I already have 2 red pairs of shoes, look at the long list of Valentine's Day cookies I want to make for people, the 3 family birthdays I have this month, the cute little Valentine's boxes I am putting together for "my girls", nieces and nephews and the two ladies in my ward that I have volunteered to make dinner for I have to come to think that I just WANT these shoes and don't NEED them. Yet the little girl inside of me is stomping and screaming "BUT THEY SPARKLE & I DO NOT HAVE ANY SPARKLE SHOES!" LOL

HAPPY, HONORED AND HUMBLED

Have you ever had one of those AHA moments.... the kind of moment that just takes your breathe away and makes everything in the world seem WONDERFUL, FABULOUS and PERFECT? Well on Sunday I had one of those moments. A SUPER SWEET, CUTE and AMAZING young lady that use to be in my Primary class gave her first "youth" talk in church on Sunday. She was so cute and did such an AMAZING job on her talk. I was SO PROUD of her and felt SO HONORED and BLESSED that I had the chance to get to know this amazing young lady. I felt so THANKFUL that I had the chance to teach this beautiful and special young lady and hoped that I had taught her something while she was in our class. Well I became VERY VERY HUMBLED when in her talk she used me as an example of someone who serves others. Her talk was about the Savior and his example of love and service to others. She talked about all the leaders and teacher that had been good examples to her. She then went on to talk about how much she had enjoyed being in my class and how I had gone to her soccer and softball games. She mentioned the little treats, gifts and notes that I had given her and the other girls in our class. She even mentioned how I had dropped a cd of her favorite band for her to listen to. Needless to say I was SO HAPPY that she mentioned and appreciated all these things that I had done / do for her and the other girls in our class. I was HONORED that she would think of me as example of service. I became VERY HUMBLED when she mentioned a challenge that I had given the ladies in our class at Christmas time to do a "secret" act of service for someone during the Christmas season. She mentioned how I had told the class how serving makes me happy and that I wanted them to think of ways to give by serving others. She told this sweet story about how she was eating lunch at school with some of her friends and saw a girl sitting by all by herself. She remember our lesson and the challenge I had given the girls so she asked some of her friends if they wanted to go over and sit with the girl that was all alone. She and some of her friends went and sat next to this girl and started talking to her. While I LOVE teaching these girls SO SO MUCH and being their teacher has changed my life in SO MANY WAYS I often wonder if I am really "teaching them. Do they get the messages I give them each week or do they just like our class because of the treats I bring or give them? After hearing her talk and how she used my example to be an example to others and do something nice for someone it made me feel so THRILLED and HUMBLED. It was one of the BEST AHA moments of my life and NOTHING could have ruined the joy that I was feeling.
Never in my life did I think that I could and / or would be that kind of example to and / or for someone. I was so HAPPY, HONORED and HUMBLED by this BEAUTIFUL young lady's talk and remarks. All I could do that day was SMILE and THANK my Heavenly Father for the AMAZING blessing and opportunity that I have been given to be a Primary teacher to some of his such BEAUTIFUL. AMAZING, LOVING, FABULOUS, WONDERFUL and SPECIAL children.

THANK YOU 2010....HELLO 2011!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope everyone had a FUN, FANTASTIC & FABULOUS Holiday Season FULL of LOTS of LOVE, SMILES and MOMENTOUS moments!!!
Before I fully get involved in 2011 I would like to take a moment and say "THANK YOU" to 2010 for some WONDERFUL, AMAZING and FABULOUS moments and lessons. I went through and learned a lot in 2010 so in a way I am sorry to see it end BUT I feel THANKFUL and BLESSED for what 2010 gave me and how it change me.
I would like to list my TOP 10 of 2010:
  1. FAMILY~ I got to spend some AMAZING moments with my family in 2010. The first great adventure was a "Girls Weekend" in San Francisco with my sisters and sister-in-law. It was great to have the people that I LOVE spend time with me in the city that I love. We had some fun "hotel room" girl chat time, a wonderful fashion show with my "supermodel" sister Dari and just some good quality sister time. I LOVE my sisters and sister-in-law and I cherish the memories made that weekend. The next BIG adventure was celebrating my mother's 60th birthday by camping, yes you read right I said camping. It was great to CELEBRATE and HONOR the life of such an AMAZING lady who without we would not be a FAMILY. I also got to go to Idaho of our annual Christmas in July get together. This year was EXTRA special because my little / big brother Nick got to take a vacation from Afghanistan to join us and he even brought his FABULOUS girlfriend Lindsay to meet the family. It has been a LONG time since we were ALL together and so that is why this year was EXTRA FABULOUS and SPECIAL! I LOVE MY FAMILY SO much and I AM SO PROUD & BLESSED to be part of such an AMAZING family. My mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, brother -in- law and sister-in-law are such loving, talented, wonderful, giving and amazing people that I don't feel worthy to be part of such a family but I do feel LUCKY and HONORED!
  2. WORK~ My work went through A LOT in 2010 and I watched A LOT of great, hard working and dedicated co workers / friends get laid off and / or lose their job. It was SO HARD to watch and made me feel guilty that I got to keep my job. I feel SO THANKFUL and BLESSED that I have a job and that it is one that I LOVE, not every moment of it but at the end of the day I LOVE IT!!!
  3. CHURCH~ I use to not really like going to church. Let's face it the only thing that I looked forward to on Sunday was a good sporting event and Mad Men. But now I can not wait until Sunday comes. I LOVE the ward that I am in and the callings that I have. The people in the ward have been so nice and amazing to me. I have enjoyed the many opportunities that I have had to serve and I look forward to doing more of it in 2011!
  4. FRIENDS~ I am SO THANKFUL and BLESSED to have such AMAZING and FABULOUS friends. My friends have changed may life for the better and have helped me become a better person. I am thankful for the "old" friends that stuck with me through 2010 and for the " new" friends that I meet in 2010! I feel very fortunate to be able to have such great friends who bless and enrich my life every day!
  5. HOME~ I feel SO LUCKY to be able to live in such a great place and in such a great area. I LOVE where I live and I LOVE the fact that I live so close to a city that I love, San Francisco. While I do not own my place I feel lucky to be able to afford where I live and to live in such a nice, comfortable and secure place.
  6. HEALTH~ While this is an area that I need to approve on a little more in 2011 I feel VERY THANKFUL and BLESSED to have the body that I do have. I am THANKFUL for the fact that I can and get to see, hear, walk, talk and think. Sure there are some things that I would like to change and those are changeable but I am not going to take for granted all the wonderful things that I don't need to change.
  7. MUSIC~ I LOVE MUSIC and I find that it can help me during any situation. When you are sad it can make you happy. When you are happy it can make you happier. When you just want to rock out it can make you do that. I have a play list on my iPod of songs that I like to sing to and on my way home from work after a long day I go to that play list. It is a good thing that I do not drive with anyone and that no one can hear me because I would be very scary for them. LOL
  8. GOSPEL~ I am SO THANKFUL for the blessings, hope and guidance that the gospel brings into my life. Life sometimes in not easy and seems unfair but because I have the gospel in my life I feel like I have the strength and faith to get through it all. I am thankful for the fact that I know that there is a plan for me and that I have a "Father" that loves me and wants the best for me.
  9. VALIANT GIRLS ~ In June of 2010 I was called to be the primary teacher for the Valiant Girls in our ward. I was so scared to accept this calling and was not sure it was the best thing for me. BUT I decided to have faith in those that were inspired to give me this call and accepted. Little did I know at the time that this call would CHANGE my LIFE!!! I have grown to LOVE and CHERISH 9 AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL and FABULOUS young ladies. These young ladies have taught me SO MUCH and each day they inspire me. The time I get to spend with them is precious and I LOVE every minute. Even when I am not with them they are still on my mind. They help make me want to be a better teacher and person. There are not enough words to express how much this calling and ladies have changed my life.
  10. LOVE~ In 2010 I think I learned more about LOVE and the POWER of LOVE! Due to my calling and some of the changes I have made in my life I have allowed my heart to open a little more than I normally would. I am not one who loves easily. Sure there are things that I LOVE but mostly I keep my heart pretty guarded. But in 2010 I learned just how big a heart can grow and how much it can love. NEVER in my life did I think my heart could hold and / or love this much. It is a great feeling but at times it is a little overwhelming but over all I am feel so lucky and blessed that I have the chance to feel this kind of love.
So now that 2010 is over I am looking forward to 2011. I have never been a "glass half full" or "glass half empty" kind of girl but I am a "glass" kind of girl. As long as I can see a "glass" life is good. As long as there is a "glass" there for me to fill half full or half empty that is all that matters. So I am THRILLED that I have a glass for 2011 and I CAN NOT wait to fill it.
I hope EVERYONE has A WONDERFUL and FABULOUS 2011. May this new year bring you and those you love LOTS of PEACE, JOY,LOVE, SMILES and WONDERFUL moments.
