And The Award Goes To.....

It is award season time and next to Fashion Weeks this is one of my favorite times of the year. Who needs Christmas when you have award shows. Last night the Golden Globes were presented and while I was not too surprised on some of the awards it was still fun to watch. I do have to say that I was SO HAPPY that Kevin Bacon won for "Taking Chance". If you have not seen this I HIGHLY recommend that you see it. Anyway I am not here to recap who won and should have won a Golden Globe award I am here to recap the fashion. So I have come up with the 1st Annual Heather Golden Globe Awards. Of course the awards are based on fashion and not acting. So I hope you will enjoy this year's award show.

The Got Ruffles Award Goes To:

Chloe Sevigny (in Valentino)
Seeing this dress made me wish I actually had a bag of ruffles with some dip.

If I Can't Be A Spice Girl I Am Going To Wear One Award Goes To:
Courtney Cox (in Victoria Beckham)
Who knew that Victoria Beckham would be a better designer than a singer. I thought Courtney looked AMAZING in the dress. She totally SPICED it up!

The Wedding Topper Award Goes To:
Diane Kruger (in Christian Locroix) and Joshua Jackson
We just came from a wedding where we were the cake topper...is there any frosting on my shoe?

The Hip Award Goes To:
Drew Barrymore (in Atelier Versace)
I guess at past award shows she did not like carrying her clutch purse so this year she found the perfect solution. Hips are just not for carrying your baby they can now be used to carry your purse.

The Pretty In Pink Award Goes To:
Emily Blunt (in Dolce & Gabbana)
Pam Who?????? I thought that Emily looked AMAZING in this dress and she had the best accessory of the night with John Krasinski on her arm. Molly would be so proud.

The Non Supporting Actress Award Goes To:
Mariah Carey (in Herve Leger)
I guess because she was not nominated for Best Supporting Actress she decided she did not need to support anything anymore, except maybe her husband.

The GLAMOROUS Award Goes To:
Fergie (in Elie Saab)
This dress is BEAUTIFUL and she proved that you don't just sing about GLAMOROUS you can be GLAMOROUS too!

The Recession Award Goes To:
January Jones (in Lanvin)
In an effort to save money she asked the designer to take the extra material from her dress and make a headband out of it for her. Why go out and buy a new headband when you can make one out of scraps from your dress.

The One Up Award Goes To:
Lea Michele (in Oscar de la Renta)
I think Michele saw Amy Adams Oscar de la Renta dress from the 2009 Golden Globes and decided that she could one up it at this year's Golden Globes. After all you need a BIG dress to go with your BIG powerful voice right?

The I LOVE MY BOYFRIEND Award Goes To:
Jennifer Morrison (in Luis Antonio)
She said her boyfriend bought her this dress for Christmas so I guess she REALLY REALLY loves him to wear it to the Golden Globes. Hey look at the bright side Jennifer at least now you know your boyfriend is not gay! LOL

The Little Bo Peep Award Goes To:
Tina Fey (in Zac Posen)
So not only does this dress look like she is trying to act out her daughter's favorite nursery rhyme but it also proves that she can not see her feet. If she could she see her feet she NEVER would have picked those shoes to go with that dress.

The Scarlett Award Goes To:
Rita Wilson (Laura Ashley)
I think Rita thought that if Scarlet can make a dress out of curtains I can make one out of my bedspread.

The International Award Goes To:
Penelope Cruz (in Giorgio Armani Prive)
Now let's be honest here do you really need to understand a word someone says when they look this FABULOUS!!! I loved this dress and thought she looked AMAZING in it!

The Ex File Award Goes To:
Jennifer Aniston ( in Valentino)
I guess Jen thought that this look worked so well for Angelina this year that she would prove that she could pull it off to. Oh wait she just wants all this Jen vs. Angie stuff to stop.

The Chameleon Award Goes To:
Nicole Kidman (in Nina Ricci)
I think Nicole picked this dress to match her skin tone. I know before in the past she has said that she gets shy and nervous on the red carpet so I guess this is one way to overcome that fear. I wish I could comment on if I like the dress or not but I really can't see it very well. It doesn't stand out to me.

The Golden Award Goes To:
Toni Collette (in Elie Saab)
Not only was she a Golden Globe award winner but to me she is a Golden Globe Fashion Award winner. I LOVE this dress and I thought she looked just AMAZING in it!

So I hope you enjoyed my little award show. I hope that I did not offend anyone. While I could go on and on about all the fashion I saw at the Golden Globes I think it is best to stop now.
Enjoy this year's award season everyone and may your favorites win.
Best Wishes and Smiles from the Bay!
