WOW! I am really far behind on my blogging. I can not believe how fast time has gone by.
July was a busy and fun month. It started off with my friend coming to visit from New York for a long weekend. She comes every year for a visit when the New York Mets are playing the San Francisco Giants. We usually try to plan a weekend around the game and do something fun in the Bay Area that she has not done and / or seen before. This year we decided to take a trip to Wine Country. She manages a wine store in Brooklyn and wanted to see where some of the California wines were made. So even though I do not drink I was more than happy to play tour guide to the Napa Valley area, after all it is so amazingly beautiful that even a non wine drinker can appreciate its beauty. So we were able to tour 5 different wineries and I enjoyed every minute of it. The whole process is so interesting and the vineyards are so beautiful. I learned a lot and got to enjoy a part of Northern California that I had never really seen before. It just made me love living here even more.
After two days in wine country we headed back to San Francisco to watch the Giants and Mets play. It was a good game and we had great seats. I LOVE going to AT&T ballpark and it even makes it better when the home teams wins. For day 3 we woke up early and drove to the Monterey / Carmel area and got to enjoy Monterey's Cannery Row, the famous 7 mile drive, Carmel by the Sea and then we drove up Highway 1 to the Big Sur area. This part of my trip was SO FUN and SO BEAUTIFUL!!! It was kind of foggy and a little overcast but when we got to the Big Sur drive the sun was starting to come out and then we got to see the sun set. It was all so breath taking and while driving was a little scary at times I am still glad we went. We got home late Saturday night and then Sunday both of us got ready to fly out of the Bay Area. My friend going back home to New York and me going to Idaho to visit my family. It was a great relaxing trip and help get me in the right mind set for my family vacation in Idaho.
So if anyone wants to take drive to Napa Valley, San Francisco and / or Big Sur I would be MORE than HAPPY to be your tour guide. Oh how I LOVE living here!!
